Neighborhood
Fisher Island
A private island reachable only by ferry or boat.
Fisher Island lies south of Miami Beach across Government Cut, separated from the mainland when the shipping channel was cut in 1905. There is no road connection: access is by residents’ ferry from Terminal Island, by private boat, or by helicopter.
The island is a single planned community organised around a golf course, a marina, beach and tennis facilities, and the restored Vanderbilt estate buildings.
Residential supply is condominium and villa within the community, with no separate commercial district.
